CSS-Wx is the single provider of weather data, products, and imagery within the National Airspace System (NAS), using standards-based weather dissemination via System Wide Information Management (SWIM).

CSS-Wx makes available both NOAA and FAA NWP weather products for integration into air traffic decision support tools, improving the quality of traffic management decisions and reducing controller workload during severe weather.

Products are provided via a set of common Web Services for weather, using internationally recognized data access and data format standards.

The Software Tester will work independently with mínimal supervision, providing expertise in software requirements analysis, design, design reviews, development, software testing, integration, installation, and maintenance of complex computer systems.

• Provide 2nd level engineering support for the CSS-Wx.
• Conduct tests to support system development/ testing/ integration/ deployment/ track PTR activities in JIRA for the CSS-Wx system.
• Participate in system test and key site test activities as a tester
• Attend system design reviews; technical interchange meetings; any other meetings as requested to support program and team.
• Debug software issues in Linux and Windows environments
• This position will work collaboratively within a team or individually as assigned on projects to meet deadlines and deliverables.

• Experience with C, C++, Java, SQL
• Proficient knowledge and skills of testing experience, ability to develop/write test documentation, (test plan, test procedures, test reports).
• Expertise to design and executing test activities with mínimal direction from FAA.
• Second Level experience (Trouble Shooting, Fault Isolation, and System Restoration)

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in Computer Science, Math, or Statistics and Seven (7) years of relevant technical experience.

A Master's Degree in Computer Science or another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in Computer Science, Math, or Statistics and Five (5) years of relevant technical experience.
