Cashier Job Description:
Individual is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a convenience store.
They complete many duties in order to maintain the store, which include attending to and assisting customers, accepting payments, stocking the shelves and maintaining organization, preparing any hot food and maintaining the balance of the cash drawer.
Position Type:
Full-time and part-time positions available
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee sale of gasoline and retail items snacks, beverages, etc.
- Restock products to shelves, check expiration dates, ensure only fresh/intact products are sold.
- Charge customers for cash and debit/credit card purchases using our POS system.
- Provide customers with their change (if applicable) and a receipt upon purchase.
- Initiate fuel pump upon customer selection.
- Verify ID on lottery ticket sales and track lottery ticket sales in compliance with state law.
- Check for valid ID for any attempted purchases of alcohol or tobacco products.
- Keep inside and outside of property clear of garbage and mess (bathroom, floors, windows, exterior, gas pumps, shelves, counter, etc.).
Skills:
- Reliability and flexibility for scheduling
- Ability to multitask when the store is busy
- Having basic math skills for counting money
- Showing customer service skills
- Being able to work nights, weekends and holidays
