INTRODUCTION AND SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the creation of print-ready InDesign files to deliver to our print partners for the creation of books for students and teachers throughout the United States.


Accelerate Learning, Inc./STEMScopes develops and provides Pre-K through 12th-grade math and science curriculum products to districts and schools throughout the United States and the world.

Our primary method of delivering content to our users is via our website. However, certain elements of our curriculum are also offered in printed books to accompany our online content.

Developing and creating the printed products requires converting the original source files (Google Docs and Google Slides) into InDesign files in order to deliver them to our print partners for mass production.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management
  • The Project Manager must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while still meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.

This includes the ability to do the following:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while still meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively cross functionally within the organization to meet deadlines
  • Plan projects to identify possible issues and problem solve as concerns arise.
  • Review print samples and maintain a reference library

Lead and Manage Teams
  • Work is completed by external contractors and an in house coordinator.
The Project Manager must be able to do the following:


  • Manage a full time print coordinator
  • Recruit, train, and lead teams of up to 20 remote contractors to complete necessary InDesign work
  • Drive teams to ensure highquality work aligns with specifications and complete projects on time

Work with Vendors
  • Several projects utilize vendors for creation of print materials.
The Project Manager must be able to do the following:


  • Identify work that can be outsourced to vendors
  • Maintain communication with the vendors including but not limited to project requirements, necessary files, deadlines and budget
  • Ensure highquality work aligns with specifications

  • Spanish ability
  • Prepress experience

COMPETENCIES:


  • Strong problemsolving skills, selfinitiative, and attention to detail with absolute personal integrity and credibility
  • Must be effective at multitasking, setting priorities, and meeting budget and deadline goals
  • Able to manage multiple projects and remote team members to achieve the intended outcome and delivery
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Capable of working as a positive team member under any timeline
  • Ability to adapt well to priority changes
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external teams
  • Strong delegation and leadership skills among internal and external teams
  • Experience in math and or science education preferred
  • Knowledge of Spanish preferred

COMPUTER SKILLS:


  • Software suites to include Google (Gmail, Drive, Slides, Docs, and Sheets), MS Office (OneDrive, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel), and Adobe InDesign are required.
  • Online project management/collaborative communication software experience is a plus.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:


  • Minimum of five years of relevant product development and project management experience is required. Education achievements may be substituted for work experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Primarily must be able to work in front of a computer for prolonged periods of time.

Other physical demands of the position include mobility throughout the day as needed to attend meetings and periodic conference presentations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required during evenings and weekend hours. Must be able to travel in and outside of Houston, TX for conferences, events, and district/campus meetings as needed/requested.
