HOURLY SCHOOL MONITORS

POUGHKEEPSIE CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT
Minimum qualifications required as per civil service


DUTIES:


The Poughkeepsie City School District (PCSD) is committed to providing students and parents with pathways to opportunity that will lead to achievement and success.

Through student-centered effective and transformational leadership, school and community engagement, and an unrelenting pursuit to achieve greater school outcomes for children, the Poughkeepsie City Schools is focused on developing and growing greater access, equity, opportunity, and quality across PCSD.


Informs superiors of observations of student behavior; Oversees students passing between classes in locker rooms and on premises before and after school; Monitors students on playgrounds and cafeterias; May be assigned to accompany students to and from class; May collect attendance reports; May assist in rendering first aid in emergencies; Does related work as required.


APPOINTMENT:


Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service.

Personal interviews shall be conducted where appropriate.

Applicants must be fingerprinted prior to being hired.


Job Type:
Part-time


Pay:
$15.84 per hour


Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

- working with children: 1 year (preferred)
