This Transportation Driver provides reliable, safe and consistent transportation services.

Responsible for operating buses/vans in a manner that ensures employee and public safety, route and facility efficiency and customer service excellence.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Drive and operate vans/buses safely and efficiently in accordance with State of AZ and local traffic laws and ordinances.
  • Follow accepted standards and guidelines for drivers.
  • Drive vans/buses within designated routes and stops while maintaining a set schedule.
  • Perform daily vehicle checklists (pre and post inspections) to ensure equipment safety.
  • Observe, document and report vehicle safety or other safety issues to appropriate individuals (supervisor, mechanics, etc.).
  • Maintain interior and exterior cleanliness of buses/vans.
  • Coordinate with dispatcher, mechanics and supervisors in following ESBF maintenance schedules in order to maintain the safety and serviceability of vehicles.
  • Coordinate with Dispatcher for daily route, route deviations and instructions.
  • Greet and assist citizens and customers in a manner consistent with excellent customer service standards.
  • Assist customers on and off the bus/van.
  • Secure wheelchair and mobility devices.
  • Conform to policies, practices and procedures of Easter Seals Blake Foundation.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.

Additional Responsibilities:


  • Display professionalism in dealing with the public in person, be friendly and courteous on the telephone.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate buses, vans and passenger vehicles.
  • Knowledge of local Community and street system.
  • Knowledge of State of AZ and local traffic laws and ordinances.
  • Ability to learn and utilize service area street and road location information.

Requirements:


Minimum Requirements:


  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Some clerical/computer experience preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older, have a clean driving record and maintain an Arizona Driver's License.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a class 1 fingerprint clearance card.
