The Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science (MPG) is a self-governing organization of science, funded by the federal government and states.

It currently operates 84 institutes and research centers in Germany and abroad, conducting basic research in natural and social sciences.

The General Administration is looking for a part-time
Scientist for the
Department of Personnel Development and Opportunities in Munich, starting as soon as possible.


Responsibilities

  • You will develop, evaluate and optimize regulations for postdoctoral researchers and lead the establishment of the Max Planck Postdoc Program
  • In collaboration with stakeholders and networks, you will support new ideas for positioning and further developing measures and funding conditions for postdoctoral researchers at different stages of their careers
  • In addition to these creative tasks, you will also be responsible for the administrative management of specific funding measures (e.g. named scholarships) and Nobel Laureate Fellowships, as well as drafting position papers or statements on important political issues regarding scientific career development
  • As the contact person for the internal network of postdoctoral researchers at the MPG (PostdocNet), you will support and maintain the network within the General Administration of the MPG

Requirements

  • A completed academic degree and relevant knowledge in the field
  • Knowledge of the training and career paths of postdoctoral researchers in different stages of their careers in Germany and abroad
