Job Description

GENERAL DUTIES:

The candidate shall act as a servant leader and coach for the Agile Scrum Team, helping to ensure that Agile practices are understood and enacted.
The candidate shall facilitate Scrum events (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives) and ensure they are productive and kept within the timebox.
The candidate shall support Product Owners in their efforts to manage the product backlog efficiently and effectively.
The candidate shall assist the Scrum Team in identifying and removing impediments, shielding them from external distractions to achieve sprint goals.
The candidate shall foster a collaborative environment where open communication, collective problem-solving, and team dynamics lead to increased productivity and team growth.
The candidate shall ensure the Scrum Team adheres to Scrum theory, practices, and rules, as well as the application of the Agile framework.
The candidate shall help the team analyze their processes and practices, guiding the team through the continuous improvement cycle.

Required Skills

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, or a related field.
The candidate must have 12+ years of experience as a Linux Engineer or similar role in a large and complex enterprise environment.
The candidate must have a current DoD 8570 Requirement: IAT III Certification or the ability to acquire one within a 6-month grace period.
The candidate must possess a deep understanding of Agile principles, frameworks, and practices, as well as the ability to apply them pragmatically.
The candidate must exhibit strong leadership skills, with the capability to guide and influence teams and individuals.
The candidate must showcase effective interpersonal skills, including facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution, and collaboration.
The candidate must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset.
The candidate must have strong organizational skills, being able to manage multiple priorities and adjust to changing circumstances.
The candidate must present superior written and verbal communication skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Ideal candidate has certification(s) as an Agile expert (e.g., Certified Scrum Master, Advanced Certified Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Professional, or similar credentials).
Ideal candidate has extensive experience with Kanban and other Agile methodologies in addition to Scrum.
Ideal candidate has adeptness in facilitating and managing Scrum and Kanban practices, including sprints and continuous flow.
Ideal candidate has proficiency in project management, with a track record of leading teams to deliver successful projects.
Ideal candidate has notable skills in communications and writing, capable of producing articulate and compelling documentation for various stakeholders.
Ideal candidate has experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) to track and support the work of the Agile teams.
Ideal candidate trains and coaches' teams and individuals in Agile concepts and practices.
Ideal candidate has a strong analytical mindset and the ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
