5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decisionmaking experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process reengineering, quality assurance) experience
This role also has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.


This role can be located in Amazon offices in: Sunnyvale, CA; or the Hawthorne/LA, CA area.

Key job responsibilities

  • Create and implement revenue and cost models to be incorporated into business reviews
  • Supporting product and portfolio scenario analysis with financial modeling and datadriven recommendations
  • Project manage financial deliverables aligned to business objectives
  • Financial Planning & Analysis, both near and long term forecasts including complex large scale capital planning
  • Create and implement financial and operating performance metrics, identifying key call outs and drivers to senior management
  • Use your project management skills to build new and improve existing processes

  • 5+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
  • MBA, or CPA
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL
  • Experience working with largescale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
