The Broad's mission is to make contemporary art accessible to the widest possible audience. Founded in 2015 on Grand Avenue in downtown Los Angeles by philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad, the museum offers free general admission and presents an active

Program of special exhibitions and innovative live events, all within a landmark building designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro.

Welcoming around 900,000 visitors per year, The Broad is a bustling public space, and serves as home to the Broad collection, one of the world's leading collections of postwar and contemporary art, which continues to grow as new artists and artworks are added.

The museum is also the headquarters of The Broad Art Foundation's worldwide lending library, which has been loaning collection works to museums around the world since 1984.

To create greater public access, The Broad will break ground on a 55,000 square-foot expansion in early 2025.


ABOUT THE POSITION


The Executive Assistant to the Founding Director provides sophisticated administrative support to the museum's primary executive leader, who shapes the overall direction of the museum, is actively engaged in the global art landscape, and guides the growth of the Broad collection.

You will work collaboratively with all levels of management and staff, and serve as the Founding Director's gatekeeper, liaison to artists, galleries, peer institutions, The Broad's board of directors, outside contractors, vendors, and VIP visitors.

Administrative work includes but is not limited to baseline tasks such as:

adept calendar and scheduling management, impeccable attention to detail, thoughtful and responsive coordination of global business travel, analytical engagement in art market research that directly supports the Founding Directors focus on art acquisitions.

You will possess an understanding of the importance of this support role to the museum's success, and have demonstrated aptitude for the business functions related to the acquisition of art.

The Executive Assistant triages a high volume of correspondence and creates data-driven presentations for meetings including board meetings, and processing contributions and documents on behalf of The Broad Art Foundation.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as an executive assistant.
  • Exceptional ability to proactively and successfully organize, plan, prioritize, and manage multiple priorities, often on short deadlines; able to work within a dynamic and nimble environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Professional, discreet, and mature demeanor with the capacity to communicate effectively with leading figures in the art market and the museum world.
  • Knowledge of 20th and 21st century art.
  • Knowledge of local, national, and international arts patrons, funders, leaders, professionals, dealers and artists,

    _ _proven aptitude for comprehending quickly and operating within a complex network of highlevel stakeholders
  • Prior art museum experience and knowledge of museum operations, standards, practices, and procedures preferred.
  • Prior knowledge of the contemporary art market, its calendar of events and major artists relevant to The Broad collection also preferred.
  • Fluency in foreign languages is a huge plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sitting most of the time with some bending and reaching and occasionally lifting office supplies. Standing, walking, and bending periodically. Engaging in repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers - typing and/or writing.

SCHEDULE AND LOCATION:

The Broad Museum

Full-time, Monday through Friday.

Onsite, and not open for remote or telecommuting.

Hours: 9am-6pm. PST


Note:

Must be available for occasional special events on evenings or weekends; and given the museum's mission as a public venue and the nature of its director's work, the EA will be required to work onsite frequently.


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:


Compensation:
_$85,000.00 to $95,000.00_ USD

This position may be eligible for 401k, medical, vision, dental, paid holidays and paid vacation time.
