    Sr. Manager, Real-World Evidence - Cambridge, United States - Moderna, Inc.

    Description

    The Role:

    This role is an exciting opportunity to be a critical part of the Real World Evidence (RWE) analytics of a high growth organization. The senior manager of RWE analytics will be involved in multi-disciplinary real-world data analyses across Modernas programs that are leveraging cutting-edge mRNA science to create transformative medicines for patients.

    Heres What Youll Do:

  • Partner with cross-functional groups such as Medical Affairs, Epidemiology, Clinical, Pharmacovigilance, Health Economics and Outcome Research, Digital, etc., to support the development and execution of RWE strategies, protocol development, analysis plan development, implementation of analyses, interpretation of findings and dissemination/publications.
  • Serve as point of contact and represent RWE analytics team in RWE related activities across the organization
  • Ensure scientific rigor and serve as the analytical methodology expert for RWE data analyses across various data types and applications
  • Select and implement appropriate analytical methods including statistical models and/or machine learning models to align with overall business objectives
  • Ensure quality and consistency of analytics deliverables and provide training to key staff members
  • Interact with regulatory agencies and effectively address the statistical questions and requests
  • Establish effective communication with various internal stakeholders to understand and support RWE analytics
  • Collaborate with and manage vendors, to ensure meeting project timelines and goals
  • Mentor junior team members Heres What Youll Bring to the Table:
  • PhD (or equivalent degree) in statistics, data science, mathematics or related fields with 4+ years of relevant work experience in Biotech, Pharma, Regulatory agencies, or Clinical Research Organizations. MS (or equivalent degree) with 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong track records in statistical modeling and/or machine learning
  • Hands on experience with prospectively collected RWD, and/or other RWD sources such as claims, electronic health records, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge on epidemiology, HEOR, medical affair and/or pharmacovigilance, and the application of retrospective or prospective observational studies to generate RWE
  • High level of competency using standard statistical software such as R, Python, and/or SAS and database programming language such as SQL
  • Operational excellence mindset with the ability of applying the knowledge to solve scientific and clinical problems
  • Working knowledge of relevant FDA, EU, ICH guidelines and regulations
  • Experience working with and overseeing CROs, vendors, and relationship management preferred
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
