ICU Registered Nurse (Nights)
Location: Homer, AK
Shift Type: Nights
Shift Times: 7:00pm – 7:30am (12 hour days)
Type: Permanent
Hourly Salary Range: $ $52.51
Relocation Bonus: $15,000-$20,000
• In addition to your hourly wages, you will be paid a relocation bonus of $20,000.00, payable in two (2) equal installments:
o $10,000 payable on the pay date that corresponds with the pay period after the first full week of work.
o $10,000 payable upon successful completion of six (6) months of employment.
o $20,000.00 is for out of state relocation
o $15,000.00 is for in-state relocation
The ICU Registered Nurse provides primary patient care and supervision for other care team providers, as outlined in this position description. Standards for nursing practice have been established by the Alaska State Board of Nursing, state statute, and the American Nurses Association. The Registered Nurse provides care to clients of SPH in accordance with established policies and evidence-based practice standards, as well as state and federal regulations. The Registered Nurse performs all of the activities required to provide primary patient care on a specialty-based medical/surgical unit, and works in other areas as appropriate based on experience and training. The Registered Nurse may be required to provide nursing care in other nursing departments of the facility to meet patient/resident care needs. S/he will support and role-model SPH's values and behaviors while working as a collaborative and inter-disciplinary team member providing high quality, safe, and cost-effective patient care.
Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
• The position of Registered Nurse requires that the person possess a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Alaska.
• Speaking, listening, and basic writing skills are required to communicate with others, and to document care given.
• Numerical ability is required to calculate drug dosages.

About the Facility
South Peninsula Hospital is a 22 bed critical access hospital (CAH) located on the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula. SPH has 3 LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum) rooms with a view overlooking Kachemak Bay and welcomes about 150 babies per year. We specialize in low-intervention birth and can provide walking epidurals, tub birth, nitrous oxide, and 1:1 nurse patient ratios for birth support. Although we are the end of the road, we have 24/7 C-section capabilities, a delightful CRNA crew, around the clock respiratory therapy, and can safely manage women with more complicated births. SPH has 3 full-time midwives, 2 obstetricians, full time respiratory therapy and a team of family practice doctors that work collaboratively with nursing staff to provide family-centered and evidenced-based care. SPH is a level 1 nursery with the ability to transfer to Providence Anchorage Medical Center, if needed.
We have an amazing, friendly, collaborative, team of nurses and providers and we pride ourselves on our family-centered care and the ability and time to spend ample amounts of time supporting our patients through the birth experience. Because our birth census is variable and generally low-risk, all OB RNs are cross-trained to the medical surgical unit to take a patient assignment. No two weeks will ever be alike and you have the opportunity to build nursing skill in ways you cannot at larger hospitals.
