- Must keep current with Continuing Education Units (CEU) credits as required by the State of Alaska.
- Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Speaking, listening, and basic writing skills are required to effectively communicate with others and document care provided. Ability to complete computer documentation is necessary.
- Must complete general and CNA orientation for Long-Term Care.
- Must be available to work any day of the week, any shift needed, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Shifts are scheduled based on hospital and unit needs.

POSITION PURPOSE:
Member of the Long-Term Care (LTC) Facility health team functioning as a CNA II to provide direct assistance/personal care, including exercises and meals, to residents under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse. The CNA II strives to help residents maintain and/or regain their optimal state of health and self-care while providing dignity and comfort. The LTC CNA II may be required to offer nursing care in various departments to meet resident/patient care needs.

South PeninsulaHospital is a combination 22-bed critical access hospital and 28-bed skilled LTC Facility located on the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula. This role involves walking, standing for prolonged periods, stooping, sitting, and the ability to lift large loads safely. Employees in this position may be exposed to blood-borne pathogens, infectious diseases, falls, needle stick injuries, and muscle strains. Mechanical lifts are available for lifting residents as needed. Physical demands are moderate, and most work is performed indoors. Working hours may vary based on work demands and scheduling needs.
