- Provides crisis intervention, emotional support, case management, shortterm counseling, accompaniment to forensic medical evidentiary evaluations, Title IX proceedings, office of equity and diversity and court proceedings; assists in obtaining restraining orders, provides referrals and resources to ensure streamlining of service provision. Adheres to mandated reporting and confidentiality rules, policies and procedures of Strength United. Consults with a licensed staff clinician on issues regarding mandated reporting, client confidentiality, and/or suicide. Provides followup; remains connected with clients on a weekly or monthly basis to maintain the flow of communication and assistance; facilitates access to address legal and immigration related issues of clients and links to partner agencies.

Overview:
The Campus Care Advocate Program Coordinator is a member of the California State University Northridge response to sexual assault and interpersonal abuse.
The Campus Care Advocate Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the goals and objectives of the program to include coordination and provision of client services, training and mentoring of incoming campus care advocate's understanding of internal processes and collaboratively works across agency departments to ensure all aspects of client service delivery are met.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Located on CSUN campus, the Campus Care Advocate Program Coordinator reports to the Clinical Program Manager for Campus Services.
Coordination:
Oversees the review, interview and assessment, assignment and referral of clients within the organization's campus programming. Works collaboratively with the Clinical Program Manager and the agency clinicians.
Maintains a master schedule and directly assigns clients to clinicians to ensure effective and timely responses to requests for services.
Responsible for identifying, planning, implementing, and providing direct services to derive additional mind-body interventions for improved client outcomes.Client Services
Works in close coordination with the Office of Equity and Diversity, Department of Police Services, Counseling, Health and Student centers as well as off campus members of the sexual assault response team.
While upholding confidentiality with multi-disciplinary team members on campus; facilitates communication between campus partners and clients. Meets regularly with supervisor and/or Executive Team to ensure coordination and communication regarding ongoing issues and concerns.
Data Collection and Documentation
Provides training and presentation to a range of on campus entities to include: Incoming Students, Housing, Health Center, Faculty, Staff and Classroom lectures.
Training
and Mentoring
- provides initial and ongoing training, support and mentoring to Campus Care Advocates regarding internal processes. Will perform other duties as assigned, such as coordinating Trauma Informed Yoga Groups and other wellness events and activities for clients and staff.
Qualifications:
Must possess a Master's Degree in Counseling or enrollment in a Marriage and Family Therapy program or Master's in Social Work graduate level program in an accredited institution.
If the selected candidate is not already certified by the state of California as a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Counselor advocate the candidate will have to attend the requisite training to obtain the certification.
Must pass a Criminal Clearance. Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Must have excellent computer skills, including the ability to use both Mac and PC platforms and to use Microsoft Office and database programs.
Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities:
Must demonstrate ability to assess risk and work with representatives from various campus departments, upholding professional boundaries. Must be comfortable in hospital settings with ability to view injuries in a calm manner. Must demonstrate the capacity to remain calm, focused and responsive in crisis situations.
Must demonstrate the ability to use communication skills that successfully convey and obtain accurate and complete information in a respectful and caring manner.
Have a basic knowledge of body language and non-verbal communication. Understand and demonstrate active listening skills.Must be a critical thinker, reasoning, organizing and analyzing information so that problems are accurately understood, and solutions are congruent with client's capacities and outcome orientated.
Capacity to negotiate and collaborate to insure the client's successful receipt of services. Demonstrate the skill of advocating for the needs and rights of people. Must show a passion and sensitivity for trauma work.Demonstrated experience to maintain cooperative working relationships with others; be team oriented; coordinate/collaborate with professionals from multiple agencies whilst maintaining appropriate boundaries and client confidentiality Must demonstrate an acceptance and respect for cultural diversity in all its forms, including ethnicity, sexual orientation, abilities, and religious backgrounds and an ability to work collaboratively in an ethnically linguistically, and culturally diverse environment.
