Duties:


  • You will advise command leaders on suicide prevention program areas (e.g., training, intervention, response, reporting).
  • You will maintain up to date suicide prevention and crisis intervention plans and policies for an organization.
  • You will represent an organization at public forums and meetings with senior leadership to discuss special studies or research projects.
  • You will liaison with professionals (e.g., counselors, chaplains, commands, community support centers) to coordinate prevention programs.
  • You will identify common themes, trends, compliance history, causal factors, or other parameters related to special study or research topics.

Qualifications:


  • 2. Advising installation, Command and unit leaders on prevention action plans and initiatives, and developing and implementing prevention assessments and evaluations to ensure leaders have prevention knowledge, skills and abilities to address gaps and promote the wellbeing of team members, teams, leaders, and the larger organization;
  • AND
  • 3. Consolidating and analyzing data from command climate reports, unit status reports, installation data and other sources to identify critical prevention needs and develop and provide recommendations for addressing such needs.

Education:

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM)

Qualifications Standards Manual:

Applicants must possess:

Degree:
behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position
OR

Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

OR

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.


Substitution of education for experience:
Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position:
Successful completion of a Ph.
D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position
OR
Successful completion of 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.
D. degree.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
