MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined above is:

Equivalent to graduation from high school and two (2) years of paraprofessional experience in a public health or related setting, supplemented by formal or approved in-service training, which has provided additional expertise and demonstrated proficiency in an area of specialization such as training, examination, screening, counseling, or outreach.


Additional health science and community health coursework may be substituted for the experience on a year by year basis, to a maximum of one (1) year.


Other requirements:
Some positions require a valid California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. Must be willing to work evenings or weekends. Some positions require bilingual or bicultural skills.

Possession of a Phlebotomy Certificate is required for those positions that perform venipuncture, and the certification must be maintained as a condition of continued employment in those positions.
