THE POSITION:


Situated in the beautiful mountains near Michaux State Forest, South Mountain Restoration Center is a Long-Term Care Skilled Nursing Home Facility operated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK:


In this role, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the steam boiler plant installation at the center.

You will operate all boilers and associated machinery in a safe, reliable and efficient manner and make repairs as necessary.

You will also test water and add chemicals or salt as needed; keep regular records of temperatures, pressures and operating conditions; and be a lead worker over other employees in the safe operation of the plant and make repairs and modifications to equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Fulltime employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours include rotating shifts and days off.
  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
  • Relief Operator, which is the swing shift between 1st shift (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM), 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:00 PM ), and 3rd shift (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.)
  • Overtime as needed. This may change based on operational need.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • One year of experience as a Utility Plant Operator 1 (commonwealth title);
    or:
  • One year of semi-skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment;
    or:
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes six months of semiskilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment.

Special Requirement:
  • You must possess an active Class C motor vehicle license that is not currently under suspension.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
