Position Summary
This position is responsible for providing oversight of residential services at Conservatory which include but are not limited to facilitation of late-night activities including groups, movies and discussion, assisting in crisis intervention, assisting with incident reporting, and entering data in HMIS.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
_ Residential Support Services_
- Ensure program and resident safety, security and integrity during designated hours.
- Collaborate with Case Managers and other program staff to ensure the delivery of services, including Harm Reduction and Trauma Informed Care.
- Display and comply with agency's mission, policies and procedures, and service models, which includes Harm Reduction and Trauma Informed Care.
- Maintain awareness of facility surroundings for safety and reporting of accidents/incidents per policy.
- Respond to and assist in timely and appropriate crisis intervention.
- Build healthy and positive relationships with residents/participants.
- Respond to emergencies, such as alarms, fire and intrusion by following emergency response protocol.
- Complete and follow up on wellness checks during shift as needed.
- Completion of accidents, incidents and hospital petitions if needed and contact with oncall supervisor or case manager.
- Facilitate support group activities such as insomnia groups, movies, games and/ or discussions w/ residents.
- Communicate any challenges or concerns about residents or day to day operations to Residential Service Director and shift log documentation.
- Communicate directly and effectively with other program staff and program participants.
- Execute and maintain tenantcentered programming.
- Maintain eviction prevention procedures and harm reduction strategies.
Administrative Support_**- Complete and submit required documents before end of shift.
- Enter data in HMIS
Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or higher preferred.
Licensure and/or Certification:
N/A
Job Experience: 1 years of residential services experience in supportive housing setting; 1 years working with people with mental illness, substance abuse and/or both.
Special Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge of issues surrounding homelessness, mental illness and chemical
dependency; proficiency in Microsoft Office software, effective oral and written communication skills, good organizational skills, conflict management and crisis intervention skills; ability to communicate effectively with case management, staff, psychiatrist and other providers around mental health and medical issues; demonstrate clear and professional boundaries; act in a professional manner; Valid Illinois driver's license, proof of insurance and own vehicle preferred.
