***: New York Film Academy Teen Summer Camps is looking for an organized, enthusiastic, and Microsoft suite-savvy Office Assistant to help support the Teen Office Staff and contribute to a safe, fun, and educational experience for our campers.

June 24, August 14, 2024


New York Film Academy's Teen Summer Camps provide intensive programs in filmmaking, acting, screenwriting, musical theater, documentary, and photography for campers of ages 14 to 17 years old.


REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The daytoday duties required of this position may vary due to the fast paced and everchanging environment._
  • Support Teen Office, TA Coordinator, Equipment Room, Post Department, Edit Lab and Residential Director
  • Obtain and organize attendance for each class
  • Provide administrative assistance to the daytoday operation and coordination of the Teen Summer Camps, oncampus and online
  • Distribute weekly schedules to instructors
  • Assist with orientation and final screenings
  • Assist with day to day contact with parents and campers in nonemergency situations
  • Preform Receptionist duties
  • Assist with program start dates and graduation preparation
  • Organize and maintain Teen Office supplies and materials
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by Teen Camp Director, Assistant Director, or Senior Administration

KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES:


  • Ability to work with diverse groups of campers, staff, and community members
  • Strong organizational, administrative and communication skills
  • Excellent judgment with the ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to meet and serve the public, both in person and by telephone, tactfully and effectively
  • Ability to work well in a team atmosphere
  • Perform basic math
  • Understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; and understand multistep written and oral instructions

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION:


  • High School/GED required.
  • Experience working in a fastpaced multitasking results driven environment with attention to detail.
  • Experience and comfortability with campers ages 141
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Suites and Google Suites.

  • Zoom


  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Google Suite Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Mail
  • Apple Products (i.e. Mac, iPad, etc.)
  • Office equipment including, but not limited to computer, phone, fax machine copier, and calculator.

ENVIRONMENTAL / ATMOSPHERIC WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • The following environmental / atmospheric working conditions are commonly, but not always, associated with the performance of this position. The actual working conditions will vary._
  • Office Environment
  • Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull documents/boxes weighing up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to climb a ladder, standing, bending and stooping
  • Sit for long/high periods of time to perform various computer/administrative tasks
  • Reasonable dexterity of hands and fingers to operate and/or manipulate computer keyboard and other office equipment
  • Minimal travel as needed
  • Verbally and effectively communicate utilizing facetoface contact and telephones
