StrataDx is a comprehensive, CAP accredited pathology laboratory located in Lexington, MA.

We are currently looking for an experienced grossing technician to join our team. Seeking Afternoon FT, but will be flexible with hours preferred schedule is 1:00pm - 9:30pm.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Performs routine and nonroutine activities involved in the preparation of surgical specimens for histological processing, according to policies and procedures.
Assures appropriate specimen accessioning and labeling; maintains the integrity of the specimen and patient identification.
Performs gross examination and description of surgical specimens
Selects and submits tissue sections for microscopic examination.
Orders stains per protocol
Maintains a clean and wellorganized work area
Resolves routine questions and problems, refers more complex issues to higher levels
Maintains diagnostic viability of all specimens and ensures correct patient labeling. Routinely checks and verifies that case numbers match containers and blocks
Logs appropriate information into the laboratory information system.
Follows appropriate laboratory safety protocols
Adheres to laboratory's quality control policies and documents all quality control activities
Ensures compliance with all local, federal, CLIA, and CAP regulations
Assists as needed to perform other related duties and special projects as required
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or Medical Technology
35 years laboratory experience
