We are currently seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as a:

Scientific Curator (permanent position, A13, M/F/d)

As a Scientific Curator, you will report to the Head of the Botanical Garden at Ulm University. The Botanical Garden serves as a core facility for research, teaching, and public outreach events.

It is one of the largest botanical gardens in Germany, housing a diverse collection of living plants from various biotopes, a pharmaceutical garden, tropical greenhouses, and a herbarium with samples from the Neotropics and Europe.


Your qualifications:


  • Required qualifications:
  • PhD in organismic biology with a focus on botany, ecology, or biodiversity
  • Proven research experience and publication record in the field of organismic biology, biodiversity research, or ecology
  • Extensive knowledge of angiosperm systematics and taxonomy
  • Teaching experience, particularly in the didactics of organismic biology
  • Familiarity with the tasks and procedures involved in botanical gardens
