Are you passionate about fostering a positive work environment and building strong relationships?

We're seeking an enthusiastic Employee Relations Specialist to join our growing HR team You'll play a key role in the development and administration of the employee relations program, performance management program and employee advocacy.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assists management with performance concerns, disciplinary action and conflict management issues.
  • Conducts exit interviews, summarizes findings, and discusses trends and concerns with senior management.
  • Performs employee investigations and incident documentation
  • Advises supervisors and management on legal compliance, company policies and best practices
  • Assists in mediation between supervisors and employees to promote positive work environment
  • Assists in development and facilitation of performance management initiatives
  • Meets with employees for new hire checkins and reviews employee feedback to determine appropriate plans of action
  • Maintains an attitude and philosophy consistent with the company's standards
  • Works on special projects as assigned by management
  • Serves as backup to other members of the HR Department as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in employee relations
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resource management or related field
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), PHR, or PHRca credential preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills.
  • Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficient knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Other Requirements

  • Valid California driver license
  • Proof of valid car insurance
  • Ability to travel within Southern California to other company/customer locations
  • Punctuality and regular attendance (required).
Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to make repetitive movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, daily
  • Ability to walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily
  • Move/Transport items weighing 20 pounds, occasionally
  • Stand or Sit for long periods (4+ hours), daily
