    Description

    Job Description: The Structural Design Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for overseeing and creating detailed drawings and specifications for steel components within industrial construction projects. This role involves collaboration with engineers, technicians, administrative personnel, suppliers, and end customers. While primarily an office position, frequent field travel to jobsites is required.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design and oversee field and shop construction from fabrication through final installation, with a focus on structural details.
    • Develop structural system drawings using Autodesk Inventor and/or AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
    • Perform calculations, stress analysis, and foundation design for steel structural systems.
    • Conduct field visits to prepare cost estimates for customer RFQs and inspect progress of ongoing projects.
    • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure project success and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
    • Provide construction observation and support as needed.

    Experience:

    • 5+ years of experience in the structural design/construction industry.
    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (ABET Accredited) preferred.
    • Experience with concrete structural design is a plus.
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
    • Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD 2D is required.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
