    POSITION SUMMARY Located in North America's wind belt, Davenport is at the forefront of renewable energy technology and has remained home to one of our largest manufacturing facilities since 1927.

    Originally producing cereal, the factory became a pet food-only manufacturer in the late '90s and as the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the U.S., it carefully produces, packages, and ships several varieties of our Dog Chow, Puppy Chow, Alpo, Beneful, Purina ONE, Cat Chow, Friskies, and Kit N Kaboodle brands.

    As a Maintenance Mechanic, you are responsible for the preventative mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all mechanical equipment in the factory.

    You will follow plant sanitation practices and procedures while staying informed of new technology and equipment as it pertains to plant operations.

    Working in a safe manner at all times, you will play a major role in machine reliability and process improvements across the plant.

    Our maintenance work includes both predictive and preventative maintenance. Properly use maintenance equipment including hand tools, lifts, threaders, benders, drills and welding equipment.
    Repair gear reducers, belt and screw conveyors, chain elevators, and packaging equipment
    Maintain wastewater system, boiler operations, cooling towers, and general building needs
    Use test equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and process simulators.
    Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment.
    MUST BE OPEN TO ALL SHIFTS. Requirements High School Diploma or GED equivalent

    1+ years' maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, technical, military, or related environment OR 2 Year Technical Degree The approximate starting hourly pay for this position is $34.13 per hour for Maintenance Mechanic.

    Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.

    Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
