Job Description:

The Analytical Chemist will join Vertex's growing Analytical Sciences and Technology small molecule drug substance team and have the opportunity to work on various exciting life-changing commercial products.

The role of the Analytical Chemist contractor position will be a combination of hands-on method optimization and data review. The hands-on responsibility will involve trouble shooting or conducting method optimization of analytical methods (mainly HPLC, GC and KF).

It will also include maintaining accurate records of analytical activities through electronic notebook, managing commercial analytical documentations and owning of change controls (such as methods and specifications revisions).

The data review responsibility will include reviewing analytical data packages from external CMO's and be able to communicate and escalate technical findings to the internal team.

Minimum Qualifications:

BS with 2+ years relevant work experience
Knowledge of cGMP's
Knowledge and handson experience in chromatographic methods and KF (knowledge and handson experience in other common analytical techniques and general compendial methods are preferred)
Good communication skills
A committed team player and collaborator.

Pay Range:
$45-$48/HR
