Overview:
The Durst Organization is seeking an Engineer Helper.

This position will have a schedule of
Monday-Friday from 11:00pm-7:00am
(days off Saturday and Sunday). Ability to work extra shifts or hours as requested.


This is a Local 94 union position and will be based at our commercial property located at
One World Trade Center.


Salary Range:
$27.23-$38.90 per hour.


Responsibilities:


  • Desire to gain knowledge of HVAC systems and develop mechanical skills
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools to perform repairs of equipment
  • Record relevant events and facts concerning operation and maintenance in an equipment log
  • Complete tasks as assigned by Chief Engineers within your skill set level
  • Computer skills are desired in Microsoft Word, Excel, and ability to learn other programs for building rounds, BMS and energy management
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned to support tenant requests
  • Trial Period shall be 120 days, must meet milestones of Enrollment and attendance in Local 94 training program, compliance with company's work attendance and handbook polices
  • Pre-Employment (Local 94) Substance Abuse testing requirements

Qualifications:

Qualifications - Areas of Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A high school diploma or high school equivalency is required
  • Must attend Local 94 union school for 3 years until completion while position is held
  • Physical ability to climb ladders and lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis, enter and operate in confined spaces, operate power tools
  • Ability to work with exposure to elements such as odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, or chemicals
  • A35 Operate Air Compressor
  • F01 Citywide Fire Guard for Impairment
  • F60 Fire Guard for Torch Operations
  • G60 Torch use of flammable gas.
  • S12 Supervision of Sprinkler Systems
  • S13 Supervision of Standpipe Systems
  • S14 Supervision of Multi Zone Standpipe system
  • S95 Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems
  • P98 Fuel Oil Piping and Storage System
  • P99 Low pressure Oil Burner Operator
