Job description
For our retail team in Wolfeboro NH, we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced retail team leader to lead our retail staff by example, boost sales through positive customer interaction, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by providing outstanding customer service.
Van Otis Chocolates, founded in 1935, is a modern-day chocolate and candy retailer and wholesaler rooted in tradition and handcrafted premium products. By coupling traditional recipes with new and exciting product lines, we bring fun, delight, and nostalgia back to the chocolate and candy experience.
Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities
- Motivate and train staff to increase retail sales through active and friendly interactions with
customers, offering samples, and providing helpful information about new products and
promotions
Regularly ensure that retail sales objectives and goals are met
Ensure an outstanding customer experience by providing great and friendly service and
excellent store presentation
Greet customers, determine customers' needs, and make recommendations to customers
Describe merchandise and explain features and benefits to customers
Ensure attractive and clean store and product presentation
Motivate staff to complete every-day tasks and cleaning duties
Assist with and staff training
Opening and closing of store and cash registers
Help behind the candy case, at the register, stocking/labeling products, and gift wrapping
Help with bagging and wrapping products
Maintain organization in special orders
Maintain proper knowledge of products, sales, promotions and policies
Other duties as assigned from time to time.
Required Qualifications
Experienced retail and customer service professional with strong sales and leadership skills
Hands on, with a positive attitude, capable of motivating a small team by leading by example
Motivated, friendly, and dependable team player who likes to work in a busy environment
Strong work ethic and high standards
Trustworthy, responsible, self-motivated, dependable, and organized
Quick learner, flexible and able to switch tasks and direction as necessary
Able to multi-task well under pressure in a fast paced, high volume and physical environment
Strong organizational skills and computer savvy (Microsoft Office, POS, Shipping System)
Must be able to work retail hours (up to 8pm), including Saturdays and Sundays
Must be flexible with weekly work schedule; depending on time of the season, it can vary anywhere
between 10 and 40+ hours per week
Must have full open availability during high volume months (June, July, August)
Able to lift and carry 50lbs. on a regular basis; ability to be on your feet all day
Must love chocolate/candy and be willing to taste samples frequently for quality control purposes
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 10 per week
