ITAC is assisting an established Birmingham client in their search for a Sr. Data Architect The ideal candidate will be able to work cross-functionally with business stakeholders, developers, analysts, and management in order to design and implement a sound data strategy.

Job Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: Up to 175k/yr DOE

What you'll be doing (duties of this position):

Develop and implement overall data strategy to maintain single source of truth across various organizational business applications.
Design and develop data models representing organization's data assets ensuring proper normalization and data integrity.
Design and implement data integration solutions to extract, transform, and load data from various business systems into data storage systems such as a data warehouse ensuring the data quality and integrity.
Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs SQL Databases along with regular maintenance and security management.
Ensure data quality, integrity and performance by troubleshooting, query optimization, indexing and other such techniques.
Document data strategy, governance, data models and integrations and provide knowledge transfer to the tech team.

What you'll need to be considered (requirements):

Associate's or bachelor's degree in an IT related field or equivalent experience.
10+ years of proven experience in data architecture principles including data engineering, ETL operations, and data modelling as well as SQL Server
Experience with an object-oriented programming language, such as Java, Python, C#, etc.
Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance, data quality and data lifecycle management.
Experience with data visualization tools
Knowledge of security and data backup best practices.
