- Preparing the operating room and assisting during the procedure
- Caring for patients during their stay in the operating room
- Monitoring the function of medical equipment
- Documenting surgeries and potentially forwarding data
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses and sterilization units
- Possible work areas include:
- Operating room
- Endoscopy
- Cardiac catheterization lab
- Emergency department
- Outpatient clinic
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of vocational training with a minimum duration of 2 years, or
- Permission to work as a nursing assistant
- Internship in the healthcare field
- Minimum age of 16 years
- Theory
- At the Carus Academy at the University Hospital Dresden, Chemnitz Hospital, or Plauen Hospital
- 1600 hours of theoretical and practical instruction in blocks
- Practice
