    JOB TITLE: Armed Special Police Officer at Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    We are looking for Armed Special Police officers to join our team at the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC. Full-time shifts are available for candidates with a minimum of two years of verifiable armed work experience.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Protect personnel and property in a professional manner.
    • Interact tactfully with the general public.
    • Screen and process visitors efficiently.
    • Conduct roving foot patrols internally and externally.
    • Direct traffic when needed.
    • Maintain high detection rate on x-ray machines.
    • Respond to alarms and emergencies.
    • Secure entrances and exits during emergencies.
    • Control keys and lock combinations.
    • Communicate effectively via radio or company-issued cell phone.
    • Comply with company policies and procedures.
    • Report offenses and incidents.
    • Provide first aid and assist during emergencies.
    • Wear protective body armor as part of the duty uniform.
    • Maintain required training and weapons qualifications.
    • Ensure safety compliance and participate in safety programs.
    • Perform other assigned duties.
    • Regular, in-person attendance is mandatory.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be a United States Citizen, 21 years of age or older.
    • High School diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum of 2 years as an armed security officer.
    • Meet medical and physical standards.
    • Pass USHMM background screening.
    • Successfully complete Special Police Officer Training.
    • Maintain required standards for training, medical, and physical fitness.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Expect a dynamic work environment with frequent interruptions, long periods of sitting, standing, or walking. Extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays may be necessary. Work may involve high noise levels, exposure to various hazards, and challenging physical conditions.
