:_ Purpose and Scope_
The Coordinator of Prison Ministry supports the efficient operation of the Prison Ministry department by overseeing administrative tasks and providing logístical support.
_ Essential Job Functions_

- Manages administrative tasks such as scheduling, correspondence, recordkeeping, and data management.
- Coordinate recruitment, screening, and training of volunteers and employees involved in prison ministry.
- Maintains positive communication with correctional officers, facility chaplains, and administrative personnel.
- Assist in the preparation and management of the prison ministry budget.
- Purchases, distributes, and manages inventory of spiritual materials.
- Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops (ie
Volunteer Appreciation Banquet), and training sessions for prison ministry staff and volunteers.
- Serve as a point of contact for inquiries and requests related to prison ministry programs and services.
- Ensures compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Provide support to the Director of Prison Ministry and other staff members as needed.
- Meets with incarcerated individuals and family members upon release for needs and support.
- Assists with the coordination of liturgical services and religious activities in correctional facilities.
- Motivated to seek out and start new programs in and outside of the immediate area.
_ Additional Job Functions_
- Perform any other administrative tasks necessary to support the efficient operation of the Prison Ministry department.
Requirements:
_ Knowledge. Skills and Abilities Required_
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling administrative tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
_ Minimum Qualifications_
- Active, practicing Roman Catholic who is in full communion with the Church.
- High School Diploma.
- Basic catechetical training from the Kino Catechetical Institute (preferred).
- Experience in administrative roles, preferably in a nonprofit or religious organization.
- Three years of prison ministry or similar programs experience is desirable.
