Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasonal install gardener to work with our horticulture team on job sites throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn.

This position requires excellent communication skills and willingness to work hard in most weather conditions.

Responsibilities:

Complete plant installations and other garden related construction projects on job sites
Receiving plant deliveries
Moving plant materials and hardgoods in and out of project sites
Installing protection materials on finished surfaces to prevent damage
Maintain a clean hardscape at the end of each day (requires: sweeping/vacuuming leaves and debris; scrubbing/power washing)
Understand the project schedule and report on time to the project site
Update the Garden Install Field Manager with potential challenges or suggestions for the project
Identify any requirements or supply needs for the project by updating the calendar with the required information
Contribute to a harmonious work environment
Maintain professionalism with clients and their gardens, providing attention to detail, sensitivity to personal environment, and following up on unresolved issues
Good working knowledge of plant culture and willing to teach others

Job Requirements:

1+ years experience in garden maintenance and installation green roof, rooftop, urban environments a plus
Valid driver's license and smart phone are a must
Good working knowledge of plant identification, health, and habit
Highly motivated, selfdriven individual
Must be able to problem solve
Strong verbal & written communication skills
Good time management skills
Ability to take direction, prioritize, and multitask
Energetic, motivated, and hardworking
Punctual, dependable, and willing to work in most weather conditions

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Must be able to squat, lift, stretch, and bend in order to complete project.

Employment Type:

This a part-time seasonal position with room for growth. Start date is mid-April with the season running to mid-December, depending on weather.

Salary Range:

$24-$28/hour
