Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide support preparing weekday breakfast and lunch for the Brandon students in a cafeteria setting
  • Facilitate appropriate boundaries and social interactions with students who participate in the Culinary Arts Program
  • Responsible for maintaining, setting up, food production, and quality control of all meat, fish, fowl, sauces, stocks, seasonings, and other food items prepared as needed
  • Ensure quality preparation and presentation of menu items
  • Keep all refrigeration, storage, and working areas in clean, working condition in compliance with Department of Health Regulations
  • Organize production and service needs of the facility and keep appropriate production and other records as needed
  • Assist the Lead Chef in ensuring all food costs, operating expenses, and labor costs relative to the kitchen are controlled and waste is limited
  • Be dependable and timely for scheduled shifts
  • Practice "Teamwork" and "Clean as you go" policies
  • Follow all National School Lunch Program guidelines for food prep and distribution
  • Adhere to company policies/procedures and safe work practices and guidelines
  • Act as backup for Lead Chef in the event of his absence

Qualifications:


  • Minimum 1 year or greater working in food or culinary services
  • Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously to perform essential job functions including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods
  • Must be (or become within 90 days) ServSafe certified
  • Valid driver's license. Valid DEEC & CORI background check

Pay:
From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
