Job Summary:
The Product Developer plays a crucial role in driving product development processes in line with our business strategy. This role involves creating innovative products for the snack, baked goods, and nutrition bar market, contributing to revenue generation and commercial success.
Job Duties:
- Identify and analyze food trends aligning with business vision
- Create new snack bar recipes and processes for commercial production
- Reverse engineer products to streamline production services
- Lead commercialization projects and plant trials
- Build strong relationships with customers and colleagues
- Manage multiple projects effectively within the R&D Department
Required Competencies & Knowledge:
Knowledge of:
- R&D processes
- Product development in the food industry
Skill in:
- Handling customer needs efficiently
- Conducting formal meetings with professionalism
- Building customer confidence through follow-ups
Ability to:
- Lead customer-related R&D requirements
- Communicate effectively with customers
- Work collaboratively with lab assistants and interns
Proficiency in:
MS Word, Excel, formula database, Genesis, raw material costing, and inventory management.
Work Environment:
Work primarily takes place in a lab setting with occasional travel to production facilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in food product development/production
