The Controller is responsible for managing the accounting operations of Amplify and reports to the CFO.

The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company as well as develop and implement policies and procedures as approved by the CFO and Executive Leadership Team.

S/he will oversee and mentor financial/accounting staff to enhance and support the company's overall objectives.


Job Functions:


Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, commissions and payroll.- Lead and mentor accounting staff.

Collaborate closely with the CFO, head of Finance, and other stakeholders.- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk in accordance with audit recommendations and compliance requirements.- Ensure timely month end close making sure to raise any issues ahead of time to the CFO.- Oversee the production of financial reports; ensure that the reported results comply with GAAP standards.- Recommend and implement KPI's that will be used to measure department performance.- Own the annual budgeting process; report on budget vs actual variance results.- Prepare company wide KPI's owned by the finance dept.- Ensure compliance related workflows across departments such as HR, licensing and rev-ops.- Responsible for account tie-outs, reconciliations, ability to prepare and post journal entries, etc.- Assist CFO with annual financial audit, statutory audit and tax prep.- Engage in year-end activity including W-2's, 1099's and all necessary reconciliations.- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements, including depts of insurance.- Experience with insurance carrier commission payments, agent commission expense and GAAP revenue recognition rules.- Experience or understanding of insurance statutory accounting a plus.


Education/Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.

Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 710 years senior experience in accounting and finance
  • Expert level experience with accounting platforms.
  • Broad experience with payroll platforms.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
