    As an ophthalmic technician, you'll perform an extensive number of data collection functions to allow for the proper professional diagnosis of patients' conditions.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



    • High school diploma; some college preferred.
    • Experience within a professional environment with a strong customer focus.

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Empathetic personality with concern for patients' needs.
    • Strong organization with attention to detail.
    • Ability to work as a team member.
    • Demonstrated computer literacy.
    • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply training.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



    • Communicating to patients, including informing patients about tests and obtaining patient history.
    • Performing accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks.
    • Performing duties consistent with ophthalmic writer/scribe.
    • Assisting physicians as needed.
    • Performing patient triage.
    • Maintaining instruments.
    • Performing administrative duties including confirming appointments and maintaining cleanliness.
