Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital a member of Trinity Health of New England is looking for a
Department Assistant to join our Outpatient Rehabilitation team.


Position Purpose


The Department Assistants is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all patients and clients of outpatient Rehab and is a vital member of the rehab team working with the PTs, OTs and SLP ensuring the patients receive the care they need.


What will you do:


  • Manages all incoming phone calls,
  • Conducts initial patient interview to obtain insurance and billing information.
- completes a variety of clerical and data entry assignments.

  • Responsible for the scheduling, registration process and managing the electronic medical records.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required. Associate's preferred
  • Preferably 1 2 years' experience in healthcare
  • Excellent computer abilities. Excellent written, oral communication and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to follow written and verbal directions with multiple steps.
