The Product Analyst, Product Development & Management role is an exciting new global product development role that will drive the support and enablement of local network payment processing.

By building an understanding of local market regulatory and processing requirements, coupled with an understanding of Network to Network specifications and capabilities, this role will help maintain the Local Network capabilities that AEGN has enabled, and help support the development and evolution of new Local Network capabilities to meet business requirements.

This role will have a global scope, focused at the local market level, and will rely heavily on building effective partnerships with both internal and external teams to support the delivery of the required development, and in doing so, future-proofs Amex Global Network payment processing for local market requirements.

The American Express Network enables over $1.2 Trillion in annual spend and serves card Issuers and Acquirers in over 170 markets worldwide.

The Network & Acquirer Solutions (NAS) team operates the Network with the highest levels of performance, security, and integrity; and is supporting Network coverage expansion by onboarding new Network Issuers and Acquirers, as well as launching our new Network in China.

The NAS team is also driving a strategic, multi-year transformation to modernize the Network crafting innovative products, services, and capabilities that will anticipate the needs of customers by enabling more types of payments.


What is your role on our Team:

  • Develop a deep understanding of Local Network requirements by investigating and analyzing the regulatory environment, payment industry trends, business objectives, and other local market considerations, and use this information to drive the development of Local Network capabilities. This includes collaborating with other business units and external partners, across multiple markets, to drive shared Local Network objectives.
  • Collaborate with Product Development Managers and the Network Delivery teams to ensure successful enablement of new Local Network payment capabilities, through all stages of the product development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, envisioning, development, testing and delivery.
  • Build an expert knowledge of the Amex Global Network payment processes, and the various linkages, dependencies, and interoperability with Local Network payment processes. This includes building an expert level understanding of Amex Network specifications, and the respective Local Network specifications and related policy.
  • Leverage project management tools and processes to deliver Local Network capability enablement, evolving and refining these tools, where possible, from market to market (i.e from one implementation to the next).

The following experience and knowledge will be well considered:

  • An understanding of payment processing and payment capabilities, and specifically AEGN payment processing.
  • An understanding of how network partners are connected and configured on the AEGN network.
  • An understanding of Network/ISO payment specifications and standards, and Network policy in general.
  • Project management experience and understanding of Agile methodology and practices.
  • Experience in creating presentations, being able to summarize key information to help drive understanding/decision making,
  • Ability to carry out analysis, research, challenge views and collaborate to provide advice/opinion to support product development decision making. This also includes experience in gathering and documenting requirements, refining requirements into shell features, and subsequently grooming these features into a detailed development roadmap.
  • Comfortable working autonomously as part of a global team, with leadership, colleagues and external partners located in different locations.

Salary Range:
$55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
