Indirect Supply Chain Leader - Grand Rapids, United States - Steelcase
Description
We are hiring an
Indirect Supply Chain Leader, to be responsible for developing and managing category strategies, reducing cost, negotiating agreements, and making sure the materials and products meet Steelcase specifications.
The role requires collaboration with the leaders within the categories you support and will help advance the work of our Supply Management team.
You will be expected to be the liaison with multiple stakeholders across various areas of the business.This role delivers value by ensuring Steelcase partners with high performing suppliers with an emphasis on exceptional service, quality, and value.
Other activities such as:
- Managing supplier relationships
- Provide strategic and analytical support and decision making for the category.
- Accountable to ensure that desired business results are met on behalf of all applicable stakeholders.
- Manages and leads implementation of numerous projects relative to achieving business results expected of procurement assignment.
- Develops, updates, and implements short
- Identifies opportunities for supply related cost control and performance improvement.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts with suppliers.
- The scope of the assigned responsibility will have a major national and potentially global cost impact/benefit on the company.
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Selfmotivated, selfdirected, and results oriented.
- A strong customer service orientation for both internal and external users (and a sense of urgency)
- Must be able to gather a high volume of complex data and translate that from data to insight and tell a story. Strong critical thinking, continuous improvement, and problemsolving skills
Preferred Skills and Competencies
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Data Visualization tools/software.
- Must be able to collaborate and communicate with people from many internal functions as well as external organizations.
- Must be able to manage relationships and multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation skills Strong organization skills
