    Position Summary
  • The Data Analyst provides data and information in support of the mission and goals of the College and Institutional Effectiveness office. Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation and in collaboration with the Manager of Institutional Research, the Data Analyst will be responsible for performing technical work and maintaining and fostering positive relationships with various college offices. Primary responsibilities include extracting, analyzing, and summarizing quantitative and qualitative data, preparing, verifying, and validating mandated reports, preparing adhoc reports, and communicating findings clearly to stakeholders.
    Reporting and Supervisory Relationships
  • Direct reporting relationship to the Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation.
    Essential Responsibilities
  • Works closely with the Manager of Institutional Research to maintain and improve systems for efficient and consistent data extraction, analysis, and reporting;
  • Prepares and distributes routine periodic reports related to enrollment, retention, etc.;
  • Supports preparation and submission of IPEDS reports;
  • Assists the Manager and Executive Director in the development of survey tools and with survey administration; analyzes and reports survey results;
  • Assists the Manager and Executive Director in carrying out various research projects at the institutional level in order to inform decisionmaking;
  • Prepares, validates, and submits required state ICCB reporting;
  • Assists the Manager in preparing data for, developing, and refining predictive model;
  • Supports the Manager in the verification, validation and submission of data reports for other governmental agencies, associations, and educational partners, and summarizes the reports for the college leadership;
  • Supports the Manager in analyzing data and writing summary reports to respond to internal and external data requests and for publication on the website;
  • Supports academic programs with program review, assessment, and other research needs;
  • Assists in maintaining and updating strategic planning data;
  • Creates and maintains documentation and data dictionaries for new dashboards, ICCB reports, and other recurring reports;
  • Works closely with lead persons of grantfunded projects and supplies them with data needed to write grant proposals and prepares implementation reports;
  • Seeks and pursues the continuous professional development necessary to maintain updated and relevant skills in a quickly changing field, and
  • Performs other workrelated duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • One year of professional work experience in research or other areas that require data extraction and analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in data analysis.
  • Experience in data extraction and analysis using MS Excel, SQL, SPSS, Python, R, or Business Objects.
  • Experience creating readerfriendly data visualizations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain effective working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's' degree in computer science, statistics or related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative research/mixed methods.
  • Experience in dashboard creation.
  • Two years of experience working in higher education institutional research.
  • Experience in Colleague.

Salary
- minimum starting salary $52,465. Salary commensurate with experience
