The Information Technology Services (ITS) Department currently has a vacancy for a Radio Subscriber Specialist in the ITS Wireless Services Radio Subscriber Shop.

In this role you will provide repair, preventative maintenance and installation of land mobile radio subscriber units, intercoms, and vehicle location systems used by the police, fire, and municipal departments.

In addition, you will also provide support to the City of Phoenix in its role as administrative managing member of the Regional Wireless Cooperative.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Repair, program, and perform preventative maintenance on radio subscriber equipment.
  • Perform basic installation of radio equipment in police, fire, and municipal vehicles.
  • Troubleshoot and repair radio, intercom, and vehicle location equipment on drivein customer vehicles.
  • Accurately complete all required database and work order entries.
  • Other responsibilities as requested by leadership.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:


  • Strong background in repairing, maintaining, and installing radio subscriber equipment.
  • Detail oriented in technical and administrative skills.

SALARY:


Pay Range:
$67,849.60 to $100,235.20/annually.


Hiring Range:
$67,849.60 to $86,590.40/annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Course work including training or experience with one or more work station computers and one or more programming languages and one or more operating systems.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum qualifications may be substituted.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:

  • One year of experience of formal training in the field of electronics.
  • Two years of experience using service monitors, watt meters, multi meters and radio programing software.
  • Two years of troubleshooting experience with 12volt automotive systems.
  • Two years of experience installing, maintaining, programming, and troubleshooting mobile radios, mobile data terminals and vehicle location systems.
  • Two years of experience using service monitors, spectrum analyzers, antenna cable sweep meters, watt meters, oscilloscopes, and multimeters, to repair and align Land Mobile radio equipment.
  • Two years of experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Public Safety vehicle emergency lighting, sirens, and intercoms.
  • Two years of experience performing bench repair, test, and alignment of Land Mobile radio subscriber equipment.
