    **Job Description**

    **AECOM** is seeking a Assistant Traffic Engineer to be based in Los Angeles, CA.

    **Position Responsibilities**

    + Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer

    + Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures

    + Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests

    + Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered

    + Identifies discrepancies in results

    + Provides guidance to entry level engineers

    + Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision

    **Qualifications**

    **Minimum Requirements**

    + BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience and exposure to Caltrans work and projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

    + EIT Certification

    **Preferred Qualifications**

    + BS in Civil Engineering

    + EIT Certification

    + 8+ years of Traffic Design experience

    + 6+ years of Caltrans experience

    + Design Experience with Traffic Signals, Ramp Metering, ITS elements, Highway Lighting and Signing and Striping

    + Design Experience with Stage Construction, Traffic Handling plans, and TMP reports

    + Preferred design experience with BRT, LRT, and Rail Crossings

    + Experience with Traffic Analysis

    + Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office programs and other relevant software programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

    + Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail-oriented work, work independently, and demonstrate effective time management skills

    + Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures

    + Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving design calculations, analysis, planning, and writing technical reports

    + CA PE or TE is highly preferred

    **Additional Information**

    Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $75, $129,
