    Operations Manager

    Type: 6 Month Contract to Hire; 100% in office; Monday to Friday

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and execute strategic recruitment and growth plans for staff and Independent Contractors/Drivers.
    • Continuously assess performance and adapt strategies to optimize results.
    • Foster strong communication and relationships with clients to ensure exceptional service delivery.
    • Enforce and implement company policies and procedures consistently.
    • Lead negotiations with vendors and service providers to achieve the best value.
    • Promote and uphold a safe working environment, instilling a culture of safety.
    • Regularly review KPIs and incorporate process improvement strategies.
    • Conduct team meetings and training sessions to enhance performance.
    • Assist in the development of annual plans for equipment, vehicles, and staffing needs.
    • Engage in P&L performance, aligning decisions with financial goals.
    • Develop and manage the annual operations budget.
    • Drive long-term excellence initiatives.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant local, federal, and state legislation.
    • Address and resolve operational issues efficiently.
    • Ensure timely and accurate compensation for drivers, maintaining ethical standards.
    • Monitor quality control scores and address performance issues.
    • Verify that Independent Contractors/Drivers are fully qualified with necessary documentation and licenses.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of five years of experience in the transportation, logistics, or a related industry.
    • Proven experience in managing a team of employees.
    • Regular experience working with Independent Contractors.
    • Strong financial management skills.
    • Bilingual in Spanish is highly desirable.
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Logistics, or a related field is preferred.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
    • Strong customer service orientation.
    • Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines consistently.
    • Team player with flexibility and patience.
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
    • Leadership and team management skills.
    • Proficiency in English for effective communication and paperwork accuracy.
