    Overview:

    ABOUT THE POSITION

    Senior Site Civil Engineer/Project Manager Land Development | Hybrid | NY/NJ

    VHBs growing Northeast region is seeking an experienced Senior Site Civil Engineer/Project Manager to support our Land Development practice for New York/New Jersey (New York City, Long Island, lower Hudson Valley, and New Jersey). Our past and present clients include commercial, office, residential, industrial, and hospitality developers; higher education, healthcare, and K through 12 Institutional entities to municipal, local government and federal agencies.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of projects, including large-scale mixed-use developments, industrial, commercial, office, institutional, healthcare and residential
    • Support preparation of land development design and permitting documents
    • Assist with project financial performance and client relations
    • Prepare and review drawings and specifications documenting the systems designed
    • Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues with them
    • Manage work and development of junior-level staff
    • Manage significant tasks on small, medium, or large projects
    • Assist in the development of new project opportunities and manage proposal submissions
    • Technical and design report writing
    • Assist in the preparation of permitting, design, and construction documents

    Skills and Abilities

    • Solid understanding of the typical land entitlement process including permitting at the local and state level preferred
    • Knowledge of local and state regulations governing site design preferred
    • Ability to think critically and creatively in a team-focused environment
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Experience preparing graphics and maps
    • Knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD, HydroCAD, and StormCAD
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Self-motivated

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study required
    • Masters degree a plus (may substitute for 1 year of experience)
    • 8-11 years of professional site/civil design engineering experience required
    • 11-15 years of site/civil design experience preferred
    • AutoCAD proficiency required
    • Civil 3D and MicroStation preferred
    • PE license required

    Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York City is $120,000-175,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
