Household Manager*

Household managers* take on the professional household care and support of people in social institutions such as nursing homes, hospitals, conference centers, household and private service companies, as well as in households of agricultural businesses.

They work in the kitchen, service area, housekeeping, or laundry. They perform their duties according to the needs of the clients* and shape their daily routine. They pay attention to cost-effectiveness, safety, quality, hygiene, health preservation, and environmental protection.

For example, they create plans for food preparation and grocery shopping. They prepare meals according to nutritional aspects. Household managers* can also show their creativity in room design.

Locations:

The state capital Kiel offers training for household managers* at three locations:

  • Haus der Athleten in the Olympic Center Schilksee
  • Regional Vocational Training Center at Schützenpark with the canteen FördeKost in the Ministry of Education
  • Boarding school of the Vocational Schools of the state capital Kiel

The assignment to one of the training locations is based on the capacities at the end of the selection process. During the application process, you can indicate your preferred training location.
