Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Data Analyst will collect, process, and perform statistical analyses on large datasets to discover useful information, suggest conclusions, and support decision-making.

The Data Analyst will support multiple departments and is a full-time, at-will, salaried exempt position.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop a strong working knowledge of the company's ERP system including how to extract relevant data from it.
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Develop SQL queries to extract complex datasets outside of the standard reports in the ERP system.
  • Create BI visualizations to tell a story and give users a better understanding of the data.
  • Assist in developing logic for streamlining warehouse operations via spreadsheets, printed reports and other tools to help organize inventory more efficiently.
  • Analyze costs and pricing to help find areas where we can increase profitability.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:


Requirements and Skills

  • BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • JavaScript, SQL, other programming languages; advanced Excel and Access skills. Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
  • Interest and proven ability to quickly learn the ins and outs of various business functions, including manufacturing, supply chain management, sales, purchasing, quality control, and accounting.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills; sharp attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, flexibility, and ability to collaborate effectively with a professional and positive attitude.
  • Skilled problem solver able to anticipate, identify, analyze, and solve complex challenges.

Physical Requirements:


  • Continuously requires prolonged periods of sitting and using computer keyboard. Regular periods of standing and/or walking. Consistently requires seeing, hearing, talking, and fine dexterity. Occasionally requires lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, twisting, and crouching.
