    Job Description

    We are currently looking for a Litigation Associate to join our team in Portland, Oregon. This role is perfect for someone with 3-4 years of experience in plaintiffs' civil litigation who is enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and motivated.

    Our cases are complex and frequently involve multiple defendants, leading to substantial settlements for our clients. Because of the challenging nature of our cases and our unwavering commitment to our clients, our team works solely on-site, creating a collaborative atmosphere where teamwork is key.

    As an associate in our Portland office, you will undergo extensive training in asbestos litigation and quickly take on responsibilities for case management. Your tasks will include case examination, supervising discovery, conducting and defending depositions, analyzing documents, drafting motions and arguments, and preparing for trials. Successful candidates may also get the chance to participate as second or third chair in trials, eventually leading trials independently with enough experience.

    Interacting with clients is a crucial part of our work, as we support families during their toughest times. Thus, empathy and the ability to relate to people from various backgrounds are vital qualities for success in this role.

    Qualifications:

    • J.D. from an ABA accredited institution and licensed to practice law in Oregon and Washington, or eligible for reciprocity;
    • Outstanding academic background;
    • Exceptional legal research and writing skills;
    • Capability to establish and maintain strong client connections;
    • Willingness to travel frequently;
    • Ability to work alone and as part of a team for the benefit of injured clients;
    • Excellent organizational abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively;
    • Adept at working under pressure in a fast-paced setting;
    • Dedication to plaintiff work, with a minimum of 3-4 years of experience.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Experienced candidates with some trial, research, writing, and deposition experience are encouraged to apply. Those with judicial clerkship background are also welcome.
