Posting Summary
- Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Communications Specialist III for NJMS
- Psychiatry. The Communications Assistant manages and helps coordinate all social media content, website administration, and marketing efforts pertaining to the Northern New Jersey Medication-Assisted Treatment Center of Excellence (NNJ-MATrxCOE) for the length of the grant. The NNJ-MATrxCOE is a part of the Department of Psychiatry at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and aims to increase statewide capacity to provide highquality substance use disorder care to the residents of New Jersey via targeted education for healthcare providers and their staff.
- Supports social media efforts with content generation, posting, and monitoring of accounts to forward or respond to comments as appropriate.
- Provides website administration, including content updates and building new pages and programs as requested.
- Creates marketing materials and informational pamphlets, program handbooks, leaflets, etc.
- Aids in the execution of overarching NNJ-MATrxCOE marketing strategy so that all channels and campaigns are integrated, professional, and brand
- As requested, assists in new projects in special areas of interest to the NNJ-MATrxCOE.

Minimum Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree in a Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
- Must have proficiency with graphic design tools, such as Adobe products (Photoshop/InDesign) and/or Canva.
- Must have proficiency with using Constant Contact.
- Must be computer literate with proficiency and working of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Up to two years relevant experience in an administrative function, desired.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
PHYSICAL
DEMANDS:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Needs to occasionally move about inside the office if on-site. This position will require frequent communication with team members and community contacts.
WORK
ENVIRONMENT;**Position requires working in a moderate noise office setting. Fast-paced, high pressure office environment; must be able to cooperate with a broad spectrum of staff.
