We are looking to hire an entry level Project Accountant to join our accounting team. This individual will report directly to the controller. This role is temporary for 6-8 weeks with the possibility to become permanent.

Summary


The accountant will perform day-to-day accounting tasks including accounts receivable, accounts payable, finance-related data-entry, collect and file documents, manage cash flow details including banking and credit card transactions, and related reconciliations.

They will also assist managers by preparing accurate and timely financial reports on a set routine.


Experience:

Entry level accounting background.


Education:
Accounting-related degree or in progress, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Knowledge of Excel is preferred, specifically, the ability to use formulas such as Sum, Subtotal, Vlookup, among others.


Job Knowledge:

Applicant must have familiarity with concepts of income, cost of goods, expense, inventory, gross profit, net profit, margins, assets, and liabilities in terms of making accounting entries, and meaningful reporting in an accounting system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Please note other duties may be assigned.

  • Document financial transactions by entering account information, verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
  • Resolves discrepancies and challenges suspicious or incomplete information related to purchase orders, contracts, invoices, bills and other documents and transactions.
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Maintain historical records by digitizing and filing documents.
  • Entering and verifying Accounts Payable related entries
  • Performs monthend close, payroll, and other journal entries as needed.
  • Performs banking and other account reconciliations.
  • Reviews P&L detail regularly to ensure accuracy.
  • Demonstrates a firm understanding of how assets and liabilities affect the balance sheet.
  • Prepares payments to vendors and reimbursements to employees.
  • Maintains internal accounting controls and suggests improvements when necessary.
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions accurately.
  • Frequently questions processes and constantly seek improvements.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Skills:


  • Experience using Microsoft operating system and related Office software is required.
  • Experience in Excel and/or Google Sheets and Google Drive is desired.
  • Knowledge of any of the following software; Acumatica, Procore, QuickBooks, Buildertrend, or related accounting or project management software is desired.

$55, $60,000.00 per year
