(Chicago/Hybrid) The Human Resources Generalist will help manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. In this capacity, the HR Generalist will be the primary point of contact in the areas of Performance Management Training & Development, Employee Motivation, Onboarding and Offboarding, Employee Relations and Compliance. This role will serve as a primary resource to staff by overseeing the implementation and compliance of all policies, procedures, employment legislation, payroll, total rewards, employee relations and required reporting. This role is integral in moving the organization forward by supporting its employees in a "best in class" workplace. We are seeking an individual with a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Psychology, Labor Relations, or related field or equivalent experience.

Minimum 5 years' experience as a professional human resources generalist or business partner. Experience should include recruitment, employee relations, policy administration, employee motivation, training, and benefits administration. A minimum of 3 years of experience using HRIS, ADP WFN is also preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience using applicant tracking systems that include report development. Non-profit experience strongly preferred.


Performance Management, Development and Training
Oversee the performance management program in its entirety - from creation to execution. The HR Generalist will plan and implement professional development and training programs for the organization.

The HR Generalist will serve as a point of contact for managers and supervisors to provide best-in-class employee relations practices and strategies for development and training.


Employee Motivation
Plan, coordinate, and execute company events to include recommendations, proposals, budgets, and staff communications. Act as a liaison with external vendors to communicate accurate and comprehensive information. Develop, maintain, and administer a multi-year wellness program. Coordinate D&I plans and initiatives in collaboration with LOVE workgroup and committee, serving as D&I POC for HR Department.


Onboarding and Offboarding
Serve as a liaison to on-boarding employees and the new hire process. Oversee pre-employment activities for new hires and streamline logistics associated with onboarding.


Project Management, Planning and Reporting
As HR Generalist, you will plan and oversee department projects from initial idea to delivery. Having clearly defined outcomes for each project while creating a step -by - step roadmap to ensure success. Gaining the buy-in of all team members to garner support for internal team projects. This position will also develop and maintain HR Dashboards. Provide analysis and reports of HR metrics to leadership as requested.


Employee Relations and Compliance
Ensure compliance and adherence with organization policies and procedures as well as state, federal, and local laws, and regulations. Ensure all legally required compliance filings are completed accurately and timely. Conduct prompt, thorough, and accurate workplace investigations into violations of company policy or procedure.

Recognize sensitivity, complexity and urgency of employee relations issues and take appropriate action, including providing sound guidance on a resolution and protecting sensitive information to the extent possible.
