What we want
The Research Scientist, under general supervision, designs, performs and analyzes experiments. Mentors students on analyzing and preparing data results.

What you need to know

Salary:
Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire's experience.

Required Education and Experience:

Appropriate PhD
Six years of relevant professional experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Supervisory skills
Prior experience with electrophysiology and/or imaging

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD or M.D
Education in Neuroscience or a closely related field
Experience in data collection, analysis
Grant writing experience
Data analytical skills, including the use of Matlab and python
Manuscript preparation and ability to communicate research results clearly.

Responsibilities:

Experiments

Designs, performs, and analyzes experiments consistent with project objectives.
Conducts independent research aligned with the TAMUS member's mission.
Develops procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy of data collection and analyses.

Data collection and analysis

Keeps detailed records of procedures and data.
Identifies, assimilates, and synthesizes data needed for computer models and manages databases relating to statistical and related software.
Maintains expertise with the latest hardware and software technologies for statistical and numerical data analyses.
